Sizihwan Workshop on Environmental Fluid Mechanics: Tsunami
August 5-6 , 2021
Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Event Overview
Environmental fluid mechanics (EFM) is a branch of fluid mechanics, which mainly studies transport and dispersion processes in a natural fluid system. EFM involves with a variety of engineering (e.g., coastal, offshore, hydraulic, and environmental engineering) and science (e.g., meteorology, hydrology, and oceanography). Sizihwan Workshop on Environmental Fluid Mechanics will provide a forum for discussing and exchanging knowledge, experience, and demand on EFM from different communities.
The main theme of 2021 SWEFM is “Tsunamis”. The topics include, but not limited to, the following:
‧Tsunami forecasting tools;
‧Tsunami hazard assessment and mitigation;
‧Tsunami warning;
‧Tsunami hydrodynamics;
‧Tsunami generation mechanisms.
2021 SWEFM is co-organized by National Sun Yat-sen University and Marine Bureau Kaohsiung City Government . A hybrid forum is organized. The participants can join us onsite, or online-virtually.
Abstract Submission
After the workshop, selected presentations are invited to submit full papers for publication in Journal of Earthquake and Tsunami after going through a normal peer review process.
Each abstract is limited to 1 page, including figures and should be submitted by April 1st - May 1st through 2021SWEFM website. Authors should provide detailed information on the objectives of the study, the methodology, the main results/finding and major conclusions. Each abstract should also include the names and affiliations of the authors, as well as the email address of the corresponding author.
